Usenet in
three steps.
Get access, set up a newsreader, off you go. The whole start takes less than ten minutes – and you need no prior knowledge.
Get access
One provider is enough – it connects you to Usenet. Three minutes, then your access details arrive by e-mail.
Setting up a newsreader
A free program that fetches the data. Server, port, username and you are done.
Discovering Usenet
An indexer helps you find what you are after. From there the newsreader does everything automatically.
Finding the right Usenet provider
To get onto Usenet you need a Usenet provider. It connects you to the worldwide Usenet and determines how fast you can download, how far back content goes and how many connections you can use at once.
So when choosing, look at four things: unlimited speed, unlimited traffic, plenty of connections and high retention. The last one says how long content stays available on the servers.
With us you do not have to think about it for long. You get the full performance in every plan. No artificial throttling, no traffic cap and no cheap entry plan that suddenly gets more expensive later.
See all plans →The newsreader: set it up once and it runs
A newsreader is the program that fetches, unpacks and reassembles the data for you. The good ones are free and open source – you pay nothing extra.
It is set up in two minutes: server address, port, username, password. The access details are in the e-mail you get after ordering.
Get going: search, click, done
You do not search in the newsreader but through an indexer – a search site for Usenet. What you find there you download as a small NZB file.
You hand that file to the newsreader. It then knows which parts to fetch from which servers, downloads them in parallel across all connections and puts them back together at the end. All you see is a progress bar.
And because our archive reaches back over 4,000 days, you will also find articles posted more than eleven years ago.
